About this role
Responsibilities
- Receive payment requests and issue invoices to guests.
- Process cash and electronic payments and ensure their accuracy.
- Operate the point-of-sale system (POS) and record transactions accurately.
- Verify the accuracy of received amounts and return the correct change.
- Maintain custody of the cash register and monitor cash during the shift.
- Reconcile the cash register at the end of the shift and report any discrepancies to management.
- Follow approved procedures for discounts, cancellations and refunds.
- Deal with guests politely and professionally and maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cashier area.
Requirements
- Have previous experience in cashier work, preferably in restaurants.
- Use point-of-sale systems and various payment methods proficiently.
- Demonstrate accuracy, honesty and the ability to take responsibility.
- Have communication and customer service skills.
- Work under pressure and adhere to working hours.
